I Voted For Kodos was formed in early 1999 when founding members Rick Bisenius and Chris Holoyda met at a converse all-stars convention. They soon discovered that Ricks love for jumping on things and Chriss love of throwing things against walls together with their mutual love of ska would make a good basis for a band. They made it their goal to break things in front of large groups of people in ways that things had never been broken before; such as with celery, or an index finger. Oh, and they also decided to play instruments. It was decided that Chris would be the guitar player since he was strong and could lift a guitar amp, also because he could actually play guitar. Rick, having no musical skills, became the singer. Chriss basement was chosen as the first sight of destruction since they knew where it was and they could play there without having to pay anybody.

Ross Gilliland and Paul Reinke were soon added to the band. Ross was brought on due to his large size and strength and ability to break very large objects. He became known as the bass player. Paul, although not actually possessing the ability to break anything, proved useful because of his ability to hit things with sticks and run head first into walls at full speed without a helmet. He became known as the drummer.

This group worked well for a while until it was discovered that it was difficult to break stuff and play their instruments at the same time. So Lee, Nick, and Andy joined the band. All showed unique stuff breaking skills. Lee was able to break through his southern up bringing and actually learn to read and write. Nick broke us off a piece of his kit-kat bar. Andy proved time and time again that hes nothing but a heart breaker. Together, the three of them were able to break a whole bunch of stuff during the early I Voted For Kodos shows. Collectively, they became known as the horn section.

Then, after many successful months of breaking stuff, both on stage and in the recording studio, Tom, Dave and Dafe joined the band as part of the make a wish foundation. Theyre all rather good at breaking stuff, but its usually on accident.
